Artist Statement: Her work addresses how Christianity and conservatism have molded her identity by dictating how individuals should behave, how desire should be contained, and how identity should be performed. She points out flaws in believing in a Christian feminine ideal in physical appearance, expression, and responsibility in an age when subjectivity reigns over sensuality and human experience, and how to break beyond that.
